The West Texas Series
On Friday, July 17th, at 6:00pm the Noelke Gallery will host an evening of art and conversation that will serve as the Noelke Gallery’s “Grand Re-opening!”. The West Texas Series is the appropriately titled exhibition of sculptures, paintings and a curated collection of photography by resident artist John Noelke. A love affair with two juxtaposing landscapes has inspired Noelke to challenge viewers to consider man’s internal struggle between freedom versus necessity.
Noelke Gallery was opened a little over a year ago, however it took some creative thinking from John to establish a team, and with the help from the Yankee Flyer, Noelke Gallery now has two part-time English majors playing host at the gallery to help establish regular hours and fill the space with literary energy. The thinking behind English majors is to encourage the space to continuously be used creatively and reefine the Gallery/Public relationship. Noelke encourages them to write while at the gallery he also plans to open the space to other authors and writers interested in sharing their work.
With a small team in place this exhibition attempts to depict life's greater purpose and meaning the dream above necessity. An opening reception isn’t nearly as fun without an audience, join us Friday, July 17th at 6:00pm for The West Texas Series, we promise an engaging evening of art and conversation, complimentary snacks and beverages will be offered.
